I feel like I have asked this before!

I have cut every stinking cottonwood tree on my property down. Gone!

Problem is I have two neighbors with these trash trees. One neighbor seems willing to cut the ridiculous huge nasty trees down but can’t afford a tree cutter. The other doesn’t care and isn’t around much

I vacuum the breezeway and around the house daily but the cotton junk is everywhere

Suggestions for removing and getting the trees cut down? I would cut them on my property but not someone else’s with structures near

I feel your pain. I am constantly cleaning the coils on my home A/C unit. There's not much you can do on someone's property if they are not concerned or cannot afford to cut them down.

Atleast it's temporary each spring. I think maple spinners in the spring or those long locust pods that are present in the fall are more of a mess.

First world problems. I've got a half dozen big cottonwoods on my place. I could cut them all down, but it wouldn't make much difference because there are plenty more where those came from in the green belt behind my place that positively can't be cut.

Just be thankful we don't have kudzu or a dozen other invasive species that they have down south.

They drift for blocks and seem to go directly for my condensing unit coils.

I feel your pain. Not only is the cotton fluff a nuisance, these trees will quickly grow so massive and unruly, they become a serious hazard. I've spent thousands over the past 15yrs having massive ones cut down on and right near my property line. They're terrible trees. The wood is heavy and useless other than for maybe campfire wood.

This year was HEAVY

But we held our own. Vacuuming. Sprinklers. And yes please come rain!!
Many Cottonwoods around here are Poplar hybrids that don't have fluff. Still messy as heck with the seeds and sticks though. Even if a straight Cottonwood only the females produce cotton, so you must be in an area lacking in man trees lol 😂
