Daughter's car vandalized with what appears to be red grease. Cold out now. Best way to clean it?

Last night, my daughter's car was splattered and smeared with red grease. If it is anything like Lucas Red n Tacky, it is going to be an unrighteous pain. To make matters worse, it is now freezing here in MN.

She doesn't live with me so, this is all second-hand info. She doesn't have immediate access to a heated garage where a proper wash can happen.

I instructed her to try gently "spatula-ing" thicker globs off with an old credit card or similar object and then wash the area using warm water and a much heavier-than-instructed dose of car wash/soap. In the end, if those don't address it, I told her to use dish soap.

We will worry about waxing the area later.

Any other advice? Anything I should correct?

Thanks

you might call me stupid but naphtha wont hurt the car paint, its oily but it will remove it....i've had other stuff thrown at my parents cars and I clean it up with naphtha and works well, then clean naphtha residue with soap and water.

Self service car wash and nail the grease with the pressure washer, pat dry, hit it with some purple power and let it sit for a few minutes then hit it again with the pressure washer. Would not use a credit card or spatchula that’s a great way to scratch the clear coat. Will definitely need to replace sealant or wax after the purple power is applied.
This would be my way to all that crap off. ;)

Grease sure does beat more corrosive chemicals. When I was in high school, this one girl apparently was hated by a certain clique that poured brake fluid all over her paint one day and by the time school was out, you could see where the factory paint had bubbled up and left behind bare metal and primer.

...or liquid nails. I was at a BMW dealership when a then new 3er was flatbedded in. Someone's significant other, probably make that ex significant other, had carefully taken a few Liquid Nails cartridges and filled in every door, hood and trunk seam as well as most of the cowl and grill openings. Then wrote "pr**k" on the hood. Maybe not an hour, but someone took their time and did a thorough job. I knew a few folks there and was invited to the shop as it was unloaded. One of the Managers addressed the crowd and said "This is why we don't cheat kids..."
