Investigation into fatal accident continues
The investigation into the death of 33-year-old Bradford man Matt Hooper is ongoing, according to Bradford Township Police.
Bradford Township Officer Jeff Shade said Monday afternoon that investigating officer Brad Mason was not available for comment, but the investigation is ongoing pending further test results.
Police said Hooper's vehicle was traveling on South Avenue near Lewie's Lounge sometime after 2 a.m. on Nov. 7, when it went out of control and traveled up a bank. Hooper was thrown onto South Avenue, where he was then hit by two passing vehicles, police said.
Mason has said previously the first vehicle that struck Hooper was driven by Jason D. Graham, 24, of 20 Erickson Drive, and the second vehicle was driven by Donald K. Brooks, 48, of Lewis Run.
Mason added it was unclear how long it was between the time Hooper was ejected from the vehicle and each time he was struck by the passing vehicles.
Police said that South Avenue was closed from Congress Street to Race Street for about 12 hours. McKean County Coroner Mike Cahill assisted at the scene, where police said he pronounced Hooper dead at 2:45 a.m.
The Forensic Service Unit from the Pennsylvania State Police, the state police Accident Reconstruction Unit, Bradford City Police, the Bradford Township Volunteer Fire Department and the city special police assisted at the scene.
