I think I'm on this site way too much..

Earlier today I spend nearly 20 minutes at Autozone today deciding whether I should buy the last three 5qt jugs of Valvoline Durablend 5w30s that they had on clearance for 14.99. Really debated whether I needed to add it to my stash or not.

In the end, I didn't get it because the car that I would have used it for already has a decent stash for it...I guess things like this happen when you're a member here. Just thought I share that with you guys...hopefully I'm not

Shortly after joining this forum my stash went from 5 qts of Dino to 100 qts of synthetic.

Manic...

Oh man. Ive been around 12 step programs before, and I could proabably use on for Motor oil as well. I have over 70 cases(12 quart) of AMSOIL, 5 quart jugs and 6 quart boxes of Mobil 1, Castrol Syntec in 0w-30(German)5w-40, 10w-40, 10w-30, Lucas, Quaker State, Off brands picked up from convience store...on and on. Stashes at parents houses, given away Stashes. You would all be really Sick if I posted pictures. Or really excited. I think the latter.

Wait till you start putting the 0W-20 next to the Cabernet Sauvignon.

Funny you say that...I was thinking that too...

I've got the bug too. Every time the wife and I go to Wally World I split over to the auto section and the wife says "Didn't you just buy oil?" The other day I was struggling with whether to buy 2 jugs of M1 SN 0w-20 for $24 apiece. I held off since I have 2 jugs of M1 5w-20 and 1 Pennzoil Ultra 5w-20 waiting in the wings.

I bought a case of Mobil Super when it was on sale at O'Rilley's that put my stash to 78 quarts (mixed brands/weights). Now this is not a super large stash by BITOG standards, but it is sufficient to irritate my wife.

It is also getting to the point where the cart is in front of the horse. For the last two years I have been doing annual changes on 3 of our cars, and twice a year on my wife's DD. Now I'm getting very anxious to change the oil - just to bring the stash down a bit. The current interval is fine for our low mileage, and I do not need to change it - but I like changing oil.

I know there is going to be a good deal coming soon and I need the shelf space too... Will the madness ever stop?

I tend to hit the auto section myself...

I'm using 5w-30 sythetic that I couldn't pass up in my wife's Honda Odyssey that's spec'd for 5w-20. Trying to burn through my old-stock/stash. Still can't pass up a good deal on oil though. I still have way too much of a stash, and curiously it keeps growing every month.

I shouldn't be allowed inside stores or to look at flyers anymore.

I fell your pain. It's pretty sad when I can't wait for Mobile One to go on sale at Autozone again. I usually get two jugs and a filter at a time. My stash grows some what.

Man, I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one that does this.

Me too!
When I bought the PP at Autozone for $14.99, I had to REALLY resist the temptation to buy some Shell 10W-40 5 quart dino for $9.99.
My truck specs 5W-30 winter...10w-30 summer...but the price was decent and I could mix for summer and, and LOL.
Dang you BITOG guy's. I am

I've never seen Havoline for sale anywhere where I live, so when I saw a gas station with a small Havoline sign in front of it I, of course, had to have a look. They only had 20W-50, which I didn't need, but I almost bought it anyway! So I bought a quart of 10W30 Formula Shell instead, just because I've never used that oil before!

I blame BITOG for my behaviour.

LOL @ this thread

For dinner tonight the wife and I went around the corner to one of our favorite local restaurants. Across the street is an Autozone and Oreillys. We had a window table with both of those stores in view and she caught me trying to read the flyers on the windows!
