Quite good.

Who is going to raid US bank accounts? Seriously? Comparing Cyprus to the US is ludicrous. Cyprus has a banking system 5 times it's GDP, and it's debt is denominated in Euros. It's basically an offshore banking haven for wealthy Russians and Europeans. The US produces Cyprus's GDP output every 5 days.

Pay attention indeed. To reality.

They won't be raided if we really pay attention to what is happenning around the Whitehouse.

A stroke of the pen or another unconstitutional Presidential declaration could easily change the situation.

IRA limits introduced this weekend.

"accumulate many millions of dollars in these accounts, substantially more than is needed to fund reasonable levels of retirement saving"

Wealth building is apparently a bad thing.

Yeah, Oz recently made it that you couldn't contribute more than $25k p.a. to your retirement savings without a 48% tax on contributions.

Then last week a new tax on people who earn more than $100k in their super pension, or have more than $2M saved...only affects 0.4% of retirees today, but this is only the thin end, as contributory superannuation is relatively (decades) new, and kids entering the workforce will be accumulating for 45 years into the future.

Yes, apparently the current admin. wants us all to live in poverty during retirement.

Why is it they seem to know what is "reasonable" and we don't?

Just another attempt at gouging those who have saved up for retirement.

Doesn't make the cut.

I agree, it is not funny. I find it scary.
