That would certainly appear to be the case... Ford, GM and Stellantis better hope so anyways. To me, that "truck" looks like some amalgamation of a Tonka toy and a Transformer. In my eyes, it's ugly. But as they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder ... It's interesting, but only to those who enjoy the avant-garde sort of life.
Further, I don't see much utility to it. It has an interesting hatch/"trunk?" (sort of), but you can't let stuff hang out the back (lumber, pipes, drywall, etc). And their reason for making that hatch was theft? As if there is no such thing as a tonneau cover available for normal truck beds?
It won't sell well in rural America, IMO; never, ever will it usurp F-series or Silverado sales - not in a lifetime.
And was I supposed to be impressed by a truck "fording" a small creek that even a FWD Escape could cross?
One thing I am curious about is, who buys pickups; that is, what are the buyer's real use cases?
Which leads to my real question; who is the Cybertruck market?
Interesting times ahead.
