CX5 4900 miles Amsoil OE

1.9% fuel.

Yes minor. Wear numbers look low. TBN fine. And yes near 2% fuel, diluted, naturally lowers viscosity.
But wouldn’t that viscosity drop be flagged normally despite the apparent lack of wear?

With that dilution, perhaps moving to a 0/5w-40 so it stays within the mfg 5w-30 requirements?

wow ONLY 1.9% fuel dilution on a direct injection engine? Mazda really tuned that properly! wow.. that's great. (y)

and the 8.8 viscosity? Depends on where you started when it was new.. most used oil I've seen always lowers in viscosity as it's used. It's why I like to start with a little higher (within grade) viscosity when new. Especially for a direct injection engine.

@Propflux01 what was the mix of highway and city miles on this interval?

Approx 60% 2-laned mild hilly curvy road, 20% city, and 20% interstate travel. As for when it was new, whatever Amsoil O.E. 5w-30 specs out as.
doesn't sound like a lot of stop/go traffic for the direct injection to dilute a lot of fuel. I'm very impressed that it was only 1.9% dilution! that's port injected type numbers!! very good! thanks for the info about the driving mix and the UOA update! (y)

I try not to city drive it much, and if I do, it gets a highway run. The 60% 2-lane is my work route. It’s @bout 25 miles each way.
