I was wondering what other people are using for CVT fluid? I have found quite a few brands that meet the specs on my Mitsubishi s. I have been looking at Amsoil, Redline, Motual, Castrol, and Valvoline. I was tired of looking and was just going to order Motual then I saw it was only a syn blend. I really cant decide on which to order. I'm looking for fuel economy and cold weather performance, without killing my warranty, for out family trip to Minnesota in December. It appears that My Spec is Dia Queen CVTJ4. Any thoughts?

The 5 brands you list are all high quality. You should be fine with any as long as it meets the required spec. Its important to make sure the CVT is properly filled so you will need to read how your manufacturer requires it to be filled.

I doubt you will see any noticeable change in performance.

My Mannual Syays that below -12 I have to let the car sit and warm up before I drive because the transaxle will be frozen. I am looking for something with a much lower pour point than Mitsubishi CVT fluid. It makes a horrendous noise when its cold whith the current stuff.

If not OEM them Amsoil, again if it meets the specs. I do not think man was meant to be outside when it is -12 outside.

Even In Nebraska last year it was below -20. The coldest I have ever been was -38 In Manas, Kyrgyzstan.

I ordered Amsoil CVT fluid, SS Oil and Filter. CVT fluid has a pour point of -45 and the motor oil has a pour point of -53. The record low for Lincoln NE is -33 so I feel pretty good about this winter!

I live in Minnesota and yes, pretty much anyone with a Mitsubishi with the CVT doesn't go anywhere for the months of January and February. They just stock up on food and beer and hunker down, waiting for the -12 weather to go away....

Do you or anyone else on here have the spec for that fluid?
