CV joint - 2 piece Boot replacement

I've seen these things in real life. I'd put them about on the same level as duct tape. Maybe the Quick Shot / Fast Boot would work better?

+1 and +2

Half shafts aren't that bad to R&R. Try to find a shop that specializes in rebuilding yours locally. You'll get a better product back than some so-called lifetime warranty from a chain auto store. I had to replace a "lifetime remanufactured" one three times in 18 months. Not for boot failure, but because they didn't know how to fit the balls to the sockets and started making all kinds of noise and vibration. Those defective units were rebuilt by A-1 Cardone.

I haven't tried the 2 piece boots that bolt together like the ones in your link, but the 2 piece units that AA or AZ sell that glue (melt) together are pretty much junk, they don't give you enough (chemical) to get them to melt together and you can't buy the (chemical) by itself, so you pretty much end up with a boot that isn's sealed.

Best of success

They don't! These things are a bigger PITA than doing it right in the first place, honestly.

Use these from Rockford they are super tough and will last a lifetime unlike that cheap Chinese junk from local jobbers or what comes on new cheap CV axles. These are OEM or better,
call them if you don't see your app listed.

Thanks Trav. If my local CV shop ever closes, it's good to have an alternative. Can't beat his prices though. As soon as one of mine splits, or if I have to ever pull it for any reason, I just drop it off to him and he cleans them up and repacks them with really good boots for about $25.00 an axle. Anyone close to the Springfield, MO area, drop me a PM and I'll send you his location......
