I testdrove the RSX in 2002, and found it to be very fun to drive. The only problem that kept me from it was the silver painted dash, seems a bit cheap on the looks.
Another one you might want to look at would be Scion tC. Pretty fun to drive, but not as fast as it looks.

Thanks for the input guys. Tamu, do you have or do you know anything about the suspension clunk or pop? The springs move around in their seats and pop??? I'm a lil worried, but believe they can fix it after delivery. Funny, I'm 40 and have no more interest in fancy cars. The RSX offers a nice car at the econo-car price. I looked at the Civic, ok for an econo car but RSX is more, a sports coupe. I belive it might be dropped due to Si and TSX Coupe. I don't care because I have what I want and what else is out there for $20k?
One thing I really like about the RSX is the center console in relation to the driver's right knee. It's wide open and makes the car very comfortable to sit in. tC does not allow that. Civic has the e-brake there. I'm pullin the trigger on sat. My old car will be transfered tomorrow. My cost is $19,200 w/4 year & 50,000mi warranty.
If you plan of keeping the car till you die, get the RSX. There are very few cars with engines that are absolute masterpieces like the K20's. I'm speaking on reliability. The Mazda and the Hyundai are great values, but they aren't nearly as sporting. Even the suspension setup on the Mazda is set a little closer to touring than sports.
Get the RSX if you want a super dependable sporty (not sports) car
Get something else if you want better ride quality and maybe a little more car for the dollar
Personally, I'd rather say I own an Acura than a Mazda or Hyundai. But that's just my shallow self.

RSX - Pretty stiff suspension but fun to drive. Reliability on them has been great. No timing belt makes for minimal maintenance. Built in Japan so it is well engineered and put together. Its too bad because rumor has it that instead of upgrading next year Acura is dumping the RSX and letting Honda sell all the small cars.
As far as the spring pop - that only applied to some of the 2005 model year. Its an easy fix-there is a service bulletin about it.

Thanks again guys. I really like the red, but I think the metallic bule will wear better. AcuraTech, we have not seen you in a while! No TB is awesome and I thought the car was made in Japan. I'm looking at the base model in stick. I'd like an auto, but it;s not a really fast car and if I do any engine mods...I want the 5-speed.
