I have a 2022 Wrangler Ecodiesel and it has the main battery and an aux battery. The aux battery is my understanding mainly to keep power when in stop/start mode. I need to replace that battery and have to disconnect the main since it sits on top of the aux.

The CETECK has a 12volt power mode that you hook up to the cables so when you disconnect it, you don't loose power to the vehicle. Anyone every use it for that? I know if I did, I need to be very careful to make sure the cables don't touch anything. I figure if I tie them back off and out of the way it would not be an issue.

Also, this is a stupid question but just wondering, If I hooked up the charger to the main battery, it should charge the aux battery correct? How would the charger view it, since it is meant for just one battery? Does it matter or is it the way the batteries are wired it will not make a difference. Thanks.

To my understanding, the two batteries are electrically joined at all times except when auto start stop is active and the engine has been turned off at the light.

And yes, using a constant 12V feed from the CTEK or other can be used to preserve radio memory, etc..
