There's something fishy....that ship isn't that big, the swells are peni size, I've fished in bigger swells. The ship seems to be very flat hulled and the helicopter amazingly stable......I'd say that's a sunny day boat!

Looked like the dude had it parallel to the swells; you gotta go perpendicular to them/in to them.

It was a 46 foot high freak wave that took out the bridge windows and damaged the electronic equipment of Grand Voyager. With its engines temporarily disabled the ship was adrift. I doubt the stabilizers were working and even if they did they would not have helped if the ship was not under power. Eventually they got the engines going and limped to Sardinia.

The Grand Voyager is not a very large cruise ship at about 25,000 tons, but it's reportedly the fastest at a maximum speed of 28 knots.

I could only imagine the fear and shreeks of screaming down the hallways when the vessel leaned THAT far to the side.

Dining room and bars had to have been a disaster. Those huge tables aren't bolted down. Very scary.

My wife manages to get on all the wrong work cruises. She ran aground last time to Bermuda. The ship made The Today Show for one of those "you're looking at ..." little filler items. One of her other cruises, they just got out of Bermuda before some hurricane was scheduled to hit NC. She said everyone was doing the Conga and puking. She said it looked exactly like that. Three or four people walking in a line going which ever way the boat tilted in a synchronized asynchronous train ..then one would break off and just puke at the nearest wall. She didn't sound too good either by the time they hit NY harbor (habah if u-ah frum NuWingland)
