Has anyone owned both and have any opinions on the comparison between them?

Cornering stability
Harshness over gravel or impacts
Feedback
Longitudinal traction (dry, wet, snow)
Lateral traction (dry, wet, snow)
NVH
Tread life

Crossclimate has only a couple of years of life, I wanted to get it, but at that time it did not come in 20", so I got Toyo.
It's a tire for those that do not want to change tire from summer to winter & V.V.
CrossContacts are not all weather as the CrossClimate, they are built to different parameters. Not an apples to apples comparison.

CrossContact outperformed CrossClimate on snow in the last head to head. I am wondering how much the CC2 improves, if enough to unseat CrossContact LX25...

All three tires in the test performed quite well in our light snow testing, with the CrossContact LX25 leading the way.

but cc beat lx25 on ice... and on wet and dry.

I've used original CC on snow and ice since 2015, absolutely no issues BUT I'm not going up to the mountains or ski slopes

Conti are very fine tires I've had them (2sets) on my MB E350.
The Cross contact are not marketed as all weather, but as all seasons. So under certain circumstances they "may" have out-performed CC, but would they do that in all winter situations? All weathers are more about traction than performance.

I'm having a set of LX25s installed on the MDX this Friday. They appear to be one of the best rated all seasons for snow performance and have been around longer to gain plenty of reviews. The Cross Contact Sport, on the other hand, seems marginal and is OE equipment on quite a few SUVs.

There are a few different versions of the Crossclimate. The Crossclimate SUV had very poor treadlife in CR's tests - only 40K.
