CrossClimate+ vs General Altimax AltiMAX 365AW

Just swapped General RT43 for CrossClimate+ on 08 Corolla (5 week back order). Night and day ice/snow performance increase. Price diff was 10%. Would have jumped on CC2 if it was available in 195/65-15.

CrossClimate2 should be great. Much better than its predecessor.

Judging by the ratings, the CC2 are tops but the 365AW are also a good choice...other brands as well.
If you can comfortably afford the CC2's buy'em.
If you can't, buy something else.
And I realize that it isn't always about affordability. It is often about what can be justified in the household.

Also, look at their ratings and judge by how they score in areas of what is most important to you and your driving style, vehicle & climate.
This is how I now buy tires. Not what tire is the absolute top rated in a category but, what fits my, or as close to our exact needs for a tire.
Sometimes that could be, e.g., the 3rd place tire that best fits my needs & expectations.

the CC2's are good on packed snow, like when the roads are plowed. But if your fresh deep snow is wet, heavy snow, while the blocks are not thick, they are very long with no wide lateral cuts, so it really doesn't cut through that type of snow that well. It's the penalty for its better dry road grip

I got the CC2 on my Infiniti Q60 Coupe. If comparing CC2 vs. A365, I think the champion belongs to CC2, but A365 wasn’t too far behind in terms of performance. In addition, A365 is also an excellent choice for affordable all-season tires.

Michelin tires are usually on sale for $70 off with free install. Plus inventory is usually same day or next day.

Generals, at least around here, usually have no promotions and take days to get.

It rarely makes sense to buy any General over a Michelin product.

This is just my own opinion. But for tires, I tend to go with performance spec/reviews/painstaking research and put price second. Tires are one of those high-end cost purchases that will stay with you for years. And you don't want to have buyers' remorse. I've had tires that I've regretted purchasing because of perceived value, only to regret for years until the tire finally wears out.

Yeah, there are those "satisfaction guarantees". But there are often times many conditions. But good on you if any of you were successful with these kinds of returns.

Have the CC2's on my ID.4 and I am supremely pleased with them as a great all around performer. We don't deal with snow here much at all but glad to know I should be good to go if we get one of our every 3-4 year snow/ice storm.
