Crate of 1/2" extensions

Be fun to see the contents and their condition. Probably all the same size.

But seriously, what would you do with 1000 1/2" drive 6" extensions? ;)
 
Clean them up.
Demark the shaft's length into, say, 10 equal bands.
Select and apply various metal treatments, such as chromium plating, rhodium plating, cold zinc coating, any of various etching / pickling processes, primers etc., to these bands.
Make the resulting 1,000 tools an award after a training regimen.
Ask the recipients -who will witness the wear- to comment every 2 years..
Market the acquired data to the coating manufacturers and make millions.
 
Why did they ever have a crate of just extensions? I didn't think the government would order a whole crate to a warehouse. I would think they would be in kits of various tools for a specific task for whatever company they had to outfit with tools packed by the manufacture.
