Craftsman tools no longer worth to keep

View attachment 323385I have some similarly odd tools from a decade or so ago. Including an electric adjustable wrench - I’m not kidding on that last one. It runs on two AAA batteries. A switch on the side opens or closes the Jaws.

I will never sell them. I will never give them away. I even re-soldered the electric adjustable when a wire broke inside, so that it would still work.

They were all Christmas presents from my late mother-in-law, and while she may not have known much about Tools, she was always excited to find me something for Christmas.

Though they get hardly any use, I still smile when I see them in the box.
I have the same electric wrench, also a gift from my MIL.

have a set of the jaw wrench like Wavinwayne has, they work well for 1/2 and 3/4 plumbing pipes and some hex heads ,if the space allows.

I got these two types of Craftsman tools a few years or decades ago. Does anyone still use them? Or a fad for a couple of years. Everyone got them for Christmas and put in tool box but seldom or never used.

I decided to put on Facebook Marketplace and if not sold then in the church yard sale box. I got $20 for the 4 Craftsman Robo like tools. Spent many times that for ChannelLocks and real ViseGrips.

My sister got me the one on the left for my birthday in 1997. Still got them, still use them. They're handy for tightening/ loosening hoses from spigots.

I never get rid of any hand tool. You never know when you may need one to be modified for an unusual fix or odd access.

When my wife sees packages coming for me it helps to be able to tell her that there is not a net increase in the number of tools. I am just upgrading. Getting rid of some old crappy brand tools and getting some newer and better brand tools.

Ok maybe take that with a grain of salt. Five new tools come in and two old tools get sold or given to church yard sale.

Do you look her in the eye when you say that!Asking for a friend!

I had some snap on kinda similar to those posted, never cared for them. Traded them in towards kinipex. Never looked back. Kinipiex are my go to pliers brand now.

I personally keep all Craftsman USA tools. They are one of my favorite brands of tools. I miss Sears so much. I can’t believe ours has been gone for 7 years. I have bought a lot of Craftsman USA stuff here recently like a complete metric wrench set that I bought just for the bigger sizes and just odds and ins and still looking for more. I have some warranty items on the way too like a ratchet and a ratcheting wrench. At least I didn’t have to turn in the tools for warranty since I just emailed them. I miss my local pawn shop where I could go fill up a box with whatever tools would fit in the box for $20 that’s how I acquired most of my Craftsman USA. I use some Craftsman USA stuff everyday and it has yet to fail me. Even the new stuff isn’t bad but I don’t think it will have the following like the old stuff does.
