Awhile I go, I saw an article where Chraftsman hand tools were supposed to start being made in the USA (Texas). Last trip to Lowes I saw no such tools made in the USA. Did the change fall through?

So far nothing. I was at Lowe’s yesterday still the same stuff all Taiwan and China. I don’t know that we will ever see any of the USA stuff again and I don’t think it’s going to be the same USA we are used too. I’ve seen those posts too but I have that believe it when I see it type of feeling to them.

Will be interesting to see if they can be priced where guys will buy them. I've been a Craftsman guy since my Grandpa bought me a basic 60 pc mechanic's set in a toolbox when I was 16. Great to hear.
I wonder if all of SBD's, "35 manufacturing facilities" mentioned in the linked article are in the States.
They also have to make them better. Making the same poor ratchets here will not be great. But the masses may not see the difference.
I wonder how long it takes something to make it to the stores? I bet there are where houses full of craftsman tools that must be sold before the new stock hits the shelves

Making the tools in the US does not automatically make them better. And Certainly other countries can also make high quality tools.
I recently got a Craftsman brushless drill and impact set "made in USA with global materials" from Lowes.
Apparently it's a re-branded DeWalt. I love it. Really nice quality.
Are the new ones supposed to be made in USA without the global materials part?

I wish they would make some quality versions again. Craftsman Professional used to be some nice stuff. Now I hate to even trade in broken stuff for the current junk.
I have alot of craftsman sockets in my toolbox at work, they are all about 8-10 years old I believe. (Purchased them from my boss, I'm a maintenance mechanic at a local bakery)
They are decent sockets, I mean they aren't snap-on or mac, or matco but they are good enough for what I do, and I'm not easy on them. My toolbox at school has snap-on, mac, tekton, and kobalt. (All paid for with cash as I will not be going into debt)
