Couple divorces over 550 house cats

Sounds like this divorce should have taken place a long time ago.
I think he is better off without her. If she is unwilling to consider giving up the cats for a better marriage then she's not quality wife material.
I like cats but I can see how 550 of them could be a problem.
Getting two cats caused some discussion in my home early in the marriage. 2750% of that would be a serious problem.
Never let your wife and kids look for a cat "on-line." The pictures are just too cute and they will "land" on a cat before you actually meet it.
So if it's sick, it doesn't matter. They already love and have bonded with the cute cat they saw on-line. It doesn't matter if it's allergic to itself, they will have to have it. Oh and when the shelter says take his sister too, you'll have to do that, because they love the cat.
Of course my revenge is both cats love me the best and will sit on my lap, eschewing all others.

Doesn't surprise me: a friend of mine told me he would get rid of his wife before his dog...
when We lived in Brooklyn, NY we had one cat as a mouser. Worked well.
Now that we are in a more country setting, We have one (1) Feral cat that we feed to keep some critters out of the vegetable garden.
I could NOT imagine why in the world anyone would have a need for more than 1-2 cats.
Dogs, 3-4 at the most unless you have a herd of sheep!

My attempts to get my 2 cats to coexist almost brought me to insanity. 550 of them?

Our one is quite enough for me. A good mouser is nice to have where we live, but when this one is gone, no more pets. Sounds like the guy had no realistic choice but divorce.
It works well if the two cats are siblings. Real or alleged, I can't say which for our pair. But they seemed to "know" each other already. They were allegedly found together approximately the same size kittens, so they were presumed to be siblings.
My ex-wife seems to be well on her way to crazy old cat lady as I think she is up to close to a half-dozen as well as a dog smaller than any of her cats.
Glad I'm not there anymore!
