What? Chinese companies are illegally copying other products and selling them as legit?
Shocking ...

This is why I've decided a few years ago to buy only at local, large outlets (AAP, Napa, AZ, ORs) because if I get a bad part, I walk back with my receipt and get my money back. While that does not solve the counterfeit problem, it at least relieves my wallet of the pain.

From the article....

However, some forum members and Redditors rightly wondered why Summit never opened or inspected a Speedmaster parts box before doing business with the company.

Have you laugh at the absurdity of that idea. How many parts does Summit carry ? I've looked for parts on their site before and they have a lot of items drop-shipped so they never touch nor see them.

Walmart, Target, Amazon or anyone with a drop ship program is going to run into this. No matter how hard you try, fake companies are parts (or products) are going to get stuck in there.

All one can do is be very watchful, and try not to stop the deal too much…..
