Costco Gas

Thanks for the information. Seems like Costco has really stepped up their game against Sam's Club and other gas stations.

I wonder when they will roll it out in California. No Costco gas stations really close to me, but there is one near the in-laws and we usually head over there about once every two weeks.

the price or 91 octane is usually 10-12 cent/L cheaper then average, that is around 40 cent/gallon. fillup a few times and it save enough to pay for my costco membership card. so I try to fill up at my local Costco whenever possible, but there are rules... only when
1, my the tank is near empty, 2, the line is short, 3, not between 9-8pm no weekend. no reason to drive 15km (round trip), idle in line doing nothing but burn fuel but burn fuel, to save $5.
having say that, it still can't beat the feeling of filling up at south of the border in Buffalo NY.

I have a Sams Club membership & Costco membership provided by my employer.

Sams Club is much closer and more convenient. However, when I do get Costco gas Ive noticed better performance out of my vehicle and better mpg's. Ive been getting gas at either of those two places for ~8 years now and its always the same. Sams Club gas gives good performance, expected mpgs. Costco gas gives great performance, better mpg.

They are almost always the same exact price per gallon.

Also, I laugh my butt off at the people who wait in lines there... the gas nozzles have extra long extendable hoses and you pull them around. You dont have to pull up to the pump as the same side of your gas cap; but to the idiots who do, it always allows me a quick in and out because theres always one side of the pump open! Why the gas attendants dont tell people this is beyond me.

I try to run Top Tier gas whenever possible but have used Costco's 5x additive gas a few times without any issues. My uncle ran their gas a few times in his Camry and said his idle quality and mileage suffered. YMMV.
