I bought a set of Cooper CS4 tires for our van (80,000 mile tread life warranty), anyone have these tires? Opinions? Thanks.

Made in Ohio! Got To Love Them.. I have Cooper Weathermaster Winter Tires, they are awesome. I was going to buy the Cooper CS4 and it was a close 2nd Place. I went with little less quality to meet my price point. But now I wish had bought the coopers. They spent millions of dollars on research and development on those tires you bought, there was a big article on it. You bought yourself a fine set of tires.

I've got a set of CS4s on my 96 Grand Prix and a set of General Altimax HPs on my 07 Grand Prix. Both are excellent tires, but the CS4s are wearing much better, as they should. I also prefer them in the snow over the HPs. Gravel roads the HPs are at a slight advantage, but rain is pretty much equal performance. The CS4s seem to have just a little bit more road noise. Very small amount, completely not noticeable with the radio on. My previous set of tires on the 96 was also HPs and my comparison is the same as far as thats concerned. When the tires wear out on my 07, I plan to put CS4s on it.
I just put my second set of CS4's on my 99 Saturn SL2. They do great in rain. They wear well and balance well. They are smooth on highway trips. Only problem I had was previous ones leaking at rim, but that may have been more of an installation problem. They were the only reasonably priced tires that performed well at the tire shop I use, so that contributed to the decision.
I bought a set of CS4s for my '06 Town and Country. Now, after 45,000 great miles, they still have a good 30-40k left. Great tires with sure-footed handling and great wet traction.
The CS4 is a nice tire with different speed ratings. I read good reviews on the CS4's and we have only one friend in our circle who have them on a Chrysler LHS(225-55-17). They love'em! Their comments:
First time they drove with the CS4's during a heavy rain storm while on vacation, they were impressed with the hydroplaning resistance and how well the car stayed planted on the road while traveling at "NORMAL" hiwy speeds.
Winter traction was very good as well, with the little snow we experienced this past winter; we still had several days of deep(ish) snow.
Ride and handling are both very good, tires balanced nicely and hiwy tracking is very comfortable w/o any noise, vibes/pulling etc.
You'll find higher rated but, for the regular person you'd be hard pressed to notice the differences with better tires unless you just get a bad set of CS4's.

On my second set of these. Something would have to be pretty good to beat them when I go for my next set.
I put a set of the T rated CS4s on my Volvo with the intent to smooth its harsh ride. They did that to a good extent and were very satisfactory in all ways. I'd get the H rated in any other case. Do not expect to get the warranty mileage...nobody does.

Good views here. Replacing a set of V-rated with 60,000 miles. They wore well, were good in the snow and rain, and got loud for the last 10k miles.
Another set of H-rated have about 20k on them and have been flawless.
