In a few weeks I'll be doing a drain/fill for the coolant in my Sedona, and I'll do a few subsequent drain/fills in the coming year to get most of the old coolant out. I'll be using Zerex Asian formula, which is sold by the gallon, and IIRC, draining the radiator and overflow tank on this vehicle lets out a hair over one gallon, say 4.25 quarts. Is it okay to top off that extra 1/2 pint with distilled water? With an 11 quart coolant capacity, I dont think it'd be an issue but I thought I'd ask.

If you are going to do several drain/fills, just don't you just buy a case of Zerex Asian Vehicle? That's what I did. That way I didn't have to worry about the little top ups. It's not really that expensive.

That's a possibility. I do believe our Fusion uses the same coolant if I end up with extra, although it's a few years out from needing any.

Is the stuff premix? I would get concentrate and go 60/40 rather than 50/50. In your neck of the woods, 60/40 is proper.

It's not an issue.

Why not just pick up the Ford Motorcraft Specialty Green Engine Coolant, which is the Mazda Asian concentrate?

In fact, I'd buy whatever brand Asian coolant I could find at the lowest price and use it on both vehicles.

your '11 Fusion uses Motorcraft Orange which is Dexcool.

it doesn't use the Mazda Green.
It even says on the resovoir bottle.

I'd be wary about putting anything but what Ford recommends, especailly if there's a warranty still.
