all heavy duty equipment seems to come standard with a coolant filter. I wouldn't hesitate to add one in a heart beat. and I would have one on my car, but unfortunately GM calls for sealant to be used in the coolant, otherwise it blows head gaskets.
And for those who say coolant doesn't get dirty people have cut open their filters to show everything from scale, rust, casting sand, and general goo.
Now, you have all these particles flowing round n round. and people wonder why water pump bearings and seals go toes up. yet last and last on heavy equipment. Had a case 7140 that went 10,000 hrs one the original water pump.
