Anyone know how to properly dispose of coolant that has been contaminated with oil from a cracked cylinder head? Thanks - KC

Drop it off at a quickie lube when there closed and nobody is around.

This is where I have my coolant disposed:

They'll take all sorts of stuff - even asbestos. They're only open Thu/Fri and the first Sat of each month. A bunch of guys in white hazmat suits/gloves come up and take the stuff out of your trunk.

However - before this place opened, my county used to hold a household hazardous waste "event" held for one day about every other month. You'd call for an appointment time, and the cars would be lined up waiting to drop off the waste. The one time I went, they had it at a hardware store parking lot. I'm sure the store agreed to it in the hopes that it would bring business and to foster goodwill. In addition to the solvents and coolant, I had an unopened case of Pennzoil 5w30 in my trunk, and the guy joked, "So you want us to take this case of new motor oil?".
