I think you made the right choice. Green is least likely of all to have incompatibility issues with plastic seals. Plus it won't sludge if your coolant level should drop.
I should have taken pics this weekend when I replaced the thermostat and water pump, but the inside of the cooling system was sparkling clean with no rust on the impeller at all, pretty happy with the Zerex original formula.
