Checked the usual review sites and found that these are fairly new with few long term reviews. Anybody have any opinions on dry rot/weather check problems

We have Pure Contacts on the Forester.
WRT dry rot or weather checking, this tire is too new for there to be any base of experience with either.
FWIW, CR rated this tire very high in its last AS tire test, second only to the (I think it was) MXV4.

Yeah I have the mxv4 and they are a decent tire but won't likely meet the mileage warranty plus they are dry rotting weather checking after a year and a half and 20000 miles

I've had better experience with Michelin tires.
The Primacy MXV4 tires I have on the '99 Accord were mounted in September '09 and have been run 55K.
They still show no evidence of sun or weather damage and look like they're good for at least 70K.

Ltx ms2 are great long mileage don't dry rot for quite some time but those are SUV or truck tires

I've worn out every set of Continentals I've bought..never seen any cracking or checking...

Have a set of Extreme Contact DWS, with 30K on them, installed on the Volvo T5, they are still at 7/32" tread depth, no checking/cracking.

Just bought a set of Eco Contacts for the Corolla, only 10K on them so far, they look great. They're replacing a set of Contacts that went about 50K and looked great when they got down to the wear bars...

I have the V rated Pure Contacts on my Accord and I can't comment on wear since they only have 6000 miles on them, but they perform extremely well. They are awesome in rain and excellent in snow. The were tied for 1st with the Michelin MXV4 in Consumer Reports testing, and they were 1st place in Grand Touring testing on Tirerack. The UTCG number is 700 so they ought to last a long time, but we'll see if they make 70,000 miles as warrantied or not.
