Anyone heard of these? Anyone used these? I recently learned that Continental exists. I learned it when I was searching Google for most powerful group 34 flooded battery, which is a G34 Continental commercial flooded battery.

Also interesting (if I understood their website correctly) is that Continental is a local company headquartered in my local area. I'm under the impression that their batteries are locally made, though I'm not sure of that.

Exide which went bankrupt. Now Stryten Energy owned by Atlas Holdings. I installed a Rural King "Exide" EFB a few weeks ago in my nieces car.

Did they figure out how to keep them leaking around the posts like the old Exides?

Which one are you talking about?

I think next time around I'm just going to wire up some big capacitors and try that. I'm tired of buying batteries all the time.

Never heard of them. I am on East Coast. Maybe Southern or West Coast?

Any connection with the tire company? The Continental logo is different than the logo on Continental tire website.

It appears to me (after cursory research) that it's a company located in Vancouver WA and or Portland OR. Making batteries locally and selling them locally and maybe regionally. So Pacific Northwest area. Their car batteries look promising, but I'm not impressed with their SLA AGM for mobility scooters.

Continental Platinum G34 (flooded) 800 CCA, 36 months warranty, $187

Good specs and price ^.

Walmart offers an Everstart flooded G34 with 800 CCA for $150. Walmart prices can't be beat. However, here on West Coast Walmart Everstart is made by Clarios in Korea and has removeable cell cap/cover.

(There's nothing wrong with having a removeable cell cover, if you check the water level and add distilled water as needed, but I'd prefer to not bother with that. So for me a sealed battery is better.)

The lowest price sealed flooded G34 (with 800 CCA) available in my area is the Continental G34 for $187.

The 2nd to lowest price sealed flooded G34 (with 800 CCA) available in my area is the Oreilly Supertart (East Penn) G34 for $240.

It is clearly NOT headquartered in the NW. It has distributors nationwide. Based on their postings about tarrifs in 2025, it is not even clear they manufacture in the USA. I don't have time or care to research further...

Continental Battery Systems is headquartered in Dallas, Texas, with its main office located at 8585 N. Stemmons Freeway, Floor 6, Suite 600 South, 75247. Founded in 1932, the company operates as a major distributor of aftermarket batteries with over 200 branches nationwide.

OK. Good to know.

After a bit more research, yes their HQ is in Texas. They have a branch in Portland OR and are sold at locations in Portland, Vancouver, and possibly surrounding areas. I'm 35 miles from the nearest location.

They now have a large presence locally. Spec are good. Prices are good. Prices are not quite Walmart good, but much lower than Oreilly and NAPA.

I'm not sure if Continental's signifigant local presence is a recent thing, or if they've been here a while and I just now discovered them.

It appears to me that their main presence and availability is in Texas and surrounding areas, and Portland OR and surrounding areas. Others may know more.

They look like a battery distribution company and not a manufacturer. Optima is one of the many brands they have a "partnership" with. Optima brand I know Continental not so much.

Look at their map. As I stated previously, they have distributors nationwide. Instead of asking more questions here, why don't you read everything you can on their website? https://www.continentalbattery.com/find-a-location

Because I want to know if anyone at BITOG has used a Continental Battery and if so, do they like it? Is the Continental website going to tell me that?

If you have a problem with this thread or with me, then stop please reading it and stop posting in it.

You are not even posting correct information. You stated their HQ was in the PNW, incorrect. You state their main presence is in OR and TX, again, incorrect, they are nationwide with distributors all over the country. You stated you are under the impression the batteries are made locally...again, incorrect in your assumption. They are a distributor...it is unknown who or where their batteries are made. They don't make it easy to figure out either.

Yup, I will put you on ignore. Thank you for the suggestion.

The obvious and stated purpose of my OP was to learn about Continental Batteries, especially to learn if any BITOGers have experience using Continental batteries.

I said "impression" about their origin because I didn't know. Stating something is an impression is not the same as stating that it as a fact. Saying it was my impression was literally me stating that I didn't know. You should look up impression in a dictionary.

You could have provided info in a positive manner with helpful intent, or said nothing. Instead you chose a third path. You repeatedly chose derision and disrespect in this thread, as well as another thread recently.

I've had enough of you. Thank you for putting me on ignore. It will be blessing to never hear from you again.
