I recently read here, I think the info was from our resident tire expert, that new tires expand when they are first mounted because of the air pressure in them. This would cause a drop in pressure. Maybe they over inflated your tires to make up for this tire expansion?
Just a wild guess.

Nope. I don't think so; judging by the way they work, and their attitude, I highly doubt that they even have such knowledge.
