Confused about LC20 opinions...

LC20 is an antioxidant and has cleaning properties. It will help ALL oils and has been proven over and over in used oil analysis. FYI we are about to launch a revamped website with loads of data. If someone has an elevated wear numbers in their UOA it is most likely due to particles getting into the oil, sand, dirt, ect not LC20 which can be easy to blame. Facts are LC20 gives the metal in your engine greater protection that the oil alone.

Frank, take it easy on attacking other products, not good business. We would never attack your products. And would never post email we have received from customers about your products giving negative feedback.

When someone ask us about AutoRX we tell them it is a quality product and there are many quality products in the marketplace. Let customers try various ones and pick which one works best for them.

After all these years - the jury is still out on LC. I used two gallons of the stuff ca 2002-2004. I'm not sure it helped anything. I doubt it hurt anything.

I think it can be an effective cleaner at the end of an OCI. As in a strong dose for the last few hundred miles before a drain can do a bit of cleaning, and certainly help the old oil from adding to any build up.

As for the TBN boosting, carbon eating, wear reduction etc....this is the part where the jury is still out, IMHO.

I added Lc20 to Amsoil ASL and it reduced all the wears alot (>50%). At least the is what Oil Analyzers INC stated.

This is true. I personally asked LCD about their opinion of Arx and they told me it is a great product.

I agree that tactics such as thread jacking and attacking competing products can be bad for business. I believe that such practices may even turn potential customers away despite the quality of the product.

I have noticed several things with LC20 in my '95 Civic since I began using it almost two years ago-

1) the valvetrain noise dropped substantially very shortly after I began using it. Mr. Dyson explained why.

2) it has appeared to remove virtually all varnish from what I can see through the hole when I remove the 710 cap (this engine is sans baffle). Sure, varnish is (usually) just plain ugly and (usually) not deleterious, but it doesn't hurt to be without it.

3) I broke the rules on my second Auto-Rx treatment rinse phase and after about 2000 miles with the conventional oil rinse I changed the filter and added 12 ounces of LC20 and have driven it another 1000 or so miles and will change out this weekend. There is a little itty-bitty ledge visible down the aforementioned hole where some sludge had accumulated and I wanted to see it gone- and I did not see it when I peeked in there a day or two ago. Whether this removal was due to thinner oil from the large LC20 dose, its chemistry, both, or other phenomena I can't positively say. But I have in fact experienced positive results from LC20 usage.

This is MY experience, your mileage may vary. I intend to continue using it, along with the occasional Auto-Rx treatment.

LC20 is good at helping my engine run more smoothly. 100% no doubt about that. It's a night/day difference after I add it.

I'm still developing UOA trends to see if it's helping my wear numbers. My engine has been clean all along so I use LC20 primarily to keep it that way. So far so good, I guess.

Okay, here's my experience: LC-20 made a real difference. It may not be the only factor, but this was on an engine maintained beautifully and carefully; an engine known for long-life:

It is also an engine known for rear main leaks. We had to total the vehicle after being nailed at an intersection. I used ARX as well after the above. Never a leak, quiet as could be, outstanding fuel mileage (unlike a lot of other 4.0-liter Jeep owners).
