I hope this is permitted if not mods can delete thank you. Is this a true video that the computer Computer knows what kind of oil was used?

P1521 incorrect oil type. There’s a TSB to reprogram the PCM to address this issue. The system was too sensitive and the code would trip during hot oil conditions(to little oil pressure). The only input is the oil pressure sensor. So no the engine is not actually viscosity sensitive.

Often a key point that’s ignored. People think the viscosity of a grade applies to every temperature.

Cute. Rename the oil pressure light.

The ECM infers viscosity from temperature and pressure, but, as noted by @Glenda W. it was possible to get this code if you had an oil filter that became partially plugged, for example, because the ECM doesn't really know what's in the pan, it's expecting a certain oil pressure reading at a certain oil temperature and if that's too high or too low, it sets a code for improper oil type.

This is for both low and high oil pressure. I remember former use Clevy managing to get his HEMI Charger to throw the code in Winnipeg in the winter with 0W-40 in the pan because oil pressure was too high.

From a materials perspective, both the 5.7L, which has spec'd 5W-30, 5W-20 and 0W-20, and the 6.4L, which spec's 0W-40, have the same components. Same lifters, same MDS solenoids, same VCT mechanism...etc. The 6.4L has a higher volume oil pump because it's also fitted with piston oil squirters, to cool the underside of the pistons, due to the higher performance usage profile of the SRT vehicles.

I switch to 5w30 this year in my 21 Ram. We had a couple days this month that were -3 degrees F. There was no codes present. So I’m not sure at what temperature and what weight the sensor would be able to tell.
