Comcast clearly proves this to be true. They control your access to many things ..and they destroy it too.

I don't think our beloved Paul meant it quite the same way.

Last month I was running two modems. One in the living room and one it the bedroom. It was flawless until they knocked one of my modems off line and said I'd have to pay double per month to use it. Well a $70 that got a few months useage, now on to a wireless router in the living room and a $40 wireless card for the comp in the bedroom.

Ain't it nice how everything just keeps getting better and better?

Comcast seems to disconnect pretty often at my parents' place, for my place (neighbor) it is about once every 2-3 months. Not a deal breaker but does suck.

The biggest problem? Their accounting are always wrong and over charge (have my own modem and they charge a "rent"??? and bogus installation)

Friend works there and fix the billing for me, they said that if you want promotional offer you have to at the end of your term talk to an account retention specialist, sometimes you literally have to quit first and then switch back (or something like that).

AT&T won't match unless you have landline. If you have landline they'll want to do everything to match or beat Comcast.

I am actually happy with Comast. They have my phone(unlimited calling US/Canada), internet(fast), and Standard Cable fixed at $104 including taxes/month for two years.

No issues and fast resolve of issues.

My only complaint is loss of phone after 8 hour power outage but that is not common.

I recommend anyone with Comcast to call them to get the same deal. I was paying cable/internet for $104, no phone service. I'm sure if I called them up and threatened to cancel because a competitor like AT&T, they will be throwing discounts at ya.

Comcast's Internet and phone are a good deal, but their TV service is ridiculous. Call up dish, I get HD service with a two TV DVR for $50 a month.

I just had to call Comshaft for the third time, begging them to have the billing department actually READ our contract, in the hopes that by READING IT, they will finally correct our bill, and start billing us the correct amount moving forward.

The contract states very clearly what we are to be billed. It is printed in black ink, on a white document (novel idea, huh?). However, we've received TWO bills so far, and both bills have been wrong in multiple ways.

And of course, I'm now being threatened with late fees and disconnection, because they can't tell me how much I REALLY owe them.

How dare I expect such a thing.

And these cable companies wonder why people hate them so much...

Often time you're dealing with a computer program that never sees a human. The human that does interface with it just doesn't have the means to fit your situation into the confines of their ability.

There are lots of holes in stuff. Getting the ONE person who can fix things isn't easy. They're usually in high demand. Meanwhile, you spin to the workings of the machinery.

I am not pleased with Bright House. Notice you didn't see much of me the last couple of days? I think my modem has gone flaky. I went through the same thing for a while several years ago before after about the fourth service call, they replaced the modem. The tech said they had a lot of trouble with the 3 Com modems. This Motorola was great for several years, but nothing works right since a power outage Sunday afternoon. The tech brings his lap top in, connects it, and gets signal. He says nothing wrong and leaves. I don't think modems are that expensive.

Don't ditch the Dish, bury the cable. Switched to Dish almost 10 years ago for $1.00 have never looked back, have upgraded 2 times now have a Super Dish. All free, just keep my monthly bill paid. Excellant Company.

Yup. I had Comcast, only took me a few months to realize how terrible they were. Dish Network has been excellent. They're equipment also tops anything comcast has to offer.

Nope, I asked the nice lady when I was on the phone with her. She said that someone entered it wrong into the account.

I'm working with our local Account Manager to get this fixed as well. He's just as frustrated as I am.
