Any bad side effects of applying Collinite 845 to clear plastic headlights after cleaning them first with compound or plastic cleaner?

I would assume that some type of protective coating on clear plastic would be good...

The wax probably isn't a problem, but the solvent is.
Look at this chart:
http://k-mac-plastics.net/data sheets/PC-PSU-PES-PEEK-PPS-PVDF-Chemical.htm

Lexan is a polycarbonate.
Collinite 845 has a fair amount of Petroleum White Spirit in it.
The chart says it's not recommended.
Collinite 476S has much less solvent in it.
You could also use something called All Kleer. It's pretty cheap; the aftermarket motorcycle windshield mfgr. I use recommended it.
