Collect, Acquire or What Just Follows You Home?

Old military surplus rifles seem to follow me home.. At least they did when they all weren't $500+
I worked with an older guy a few jobs ago that would brag about how cheap they used to be. A Russian SKS with a can of ammo was $50-100 or so. I think I paid $200 for my “end of war” Mosin 91/30. She’s rough, but shoots relatively well. I now have a better wood stock for it as well so it doesn’t look as rough.

In high school a buddy of mine found a (for a mosin) ridiculously short barreled one… the fireballs that came out of that thing were incredible. I want to say it had a 16” barrel, but it could have been 18”. It was otherwise gorgeous though.

I like your lanterns. I was at a lake house a while back where a guy had antique nautical lanterns. He somewhat ruined them by drill holes, but he added some little LED lights and strung them up in his sunroom overlooking the water. I thought about doing something like that for here. Either just a lantern or a train one if I can find one.

I can honestly say I’ve never seen a Triumph TR6 that color btw. I’ve always liked those as well.
I couldn't bring myself to drill them, heck I don't event get too aggressive on cleaning them, but I can see how that would be a nice touch.

Magenta was one of the rarer colors here, but more popular in Europe. Wasn't my first choice, but 25 years ago when I found a 38k mile, original, no Winters, one owner car for sale, I didn't even notice the color. I always thought that the GT6's look great in this color for some reason.

Like that?

Remember when Woolworth's had racks of them? Enfields for ~$88 IIRC, SKS, etc. Bought a few but I still kick myself for not getting a Spanish Destroyer 9mmL carbine or a Swedish M94 Cavalry carbine...those days are gone.
