Coffee

No one has mentioned the Brasil method in this thread. To me this makes the very best cup. I fell in love in Brasil.

Selected Starbucks coffees are not that bad, just overpriced.

I don't drink caffeine laden beverages anymore, but the wife and daughter have worn out the Saeco espresso machine. Time to shop again. The wife can make a good cup of decaf espresso for me. Outside joints, not so much.

Yes I know.

I only drink black coffee. Favorite is what they brew at my local 7-11 and they (not all 7-11) sell it to me for 50 cents on a refill basis.

At work it's Maxwell House, not too strong though.

While I like fresh beans as well, and ask for them as gifts, on the daily basis oilBabe and I enjoy Folger's Breakfast Blend. It's a light roast, very mild.

We both drink it the same 1/3rd coffee, 1/3rd cream and 1/3rd splenda, LOL.

Not quite that bad, but our coffee is a mix of sweet and mild bitter.

Currently on a bag of Starbuck's Sumatra. I don't have much experience with coffee but I prefer a dark roast like espresso. According to others Starbucks is bad coffee but I must need to try something real good until I can tell a difference.

I usually drink my coffee with milk and Nutrisweet or sugar. Recently I've been using two tablespoons of condensed milk.

Been there.

The problem with coffee is that the majority of Americans have become accustom to "Coffee Light". Meaning weak coffee loaded down with cream and sugar. AKA Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks Frapuccino. Which masks the true essence of the poor quality beans.

Same with beer. Make it as pale yellow colored as you can, brew it so as to have very minimal malt and hop flavor, and carbonate the bejesus out of it. Presto! You now have a "beer" that accounts for 2 out of every 3 beers sold in the USA.

For the last several months at work, we've been drinking several different varieties of coffee shipped straight from the grower/roaster in Hawaii. We are spoiled.

I tried Eight O'Clock Coffee. Pretty good, but bitter if I put a little too much in.

Not as good as Dunkin' Donuts coffee.

To compare, I alternated between the two for over a week.

My friend in Mpls was over this weekend visiting her parents and brought me some fresh roasted Dunn Bros beans. Drinking some now. Mighty fine indeed.

Had some nice brew at IHOP of all places.

In the true spirit of caffeination they leave an insulated pitcher at the table so I can top off my own mug.

I have not once gotten coffee at IHOP that was drinkable -- not at either coast, nor anywhere in between. It always smelled like burnt electrical insulation and tasted just horrid, thin and bitter. I haven't been to an IHOP in at least five years, so maybe they got better, although I doubt that.

I drink caffe everyday, in shots and lattes, I mostly use starbucks espresso, because its easy to get, I have them grind it to the proper size for my Italian machine, I'm too cheap to buy the proper grinder, but I wont skimp on the beans.
