Cobalt sludges synthetic every 3000 miles

In the Title you say it sludges, but in the post you just say it turns black.

Just because oil is black doesn't mean it's sludge.

Is it gooey and clumpy? When did you last change the thermostat?

On the pressure side of the filter there are clumps and gooey ness yes


Out of the sump I've never noticed oatmeal so I'm guessing the filter is doing it's job

I'd stop driving it and do an oil analysis ASAP.

Your question is ,"Why does me oil look like this?" and there is a very cheap a d easy way to get an answer to that question. Something is changing with your oil between the fill and the drain. UOA will tell you exactly what that is.
