Coastal is considered a lower brand that mainly does formulation for other companies house brands. It will meet spec but do not pay a premium for it.

Lubrigold 5w30 is 1st generation Dexos approved and HTO-06 approved as well. It is a very good oil that has a low NOACK of around 10%. That is right there with Pennzoil Platinum in that part. Coastal is a fine oil for API SN and ILSAC GF-5 applications. Nothing wrong with it's performance really either. I ran the Lubrigold 5w30 and was very pleased.

I'm now running Lubrigold synthetic 5w-20 in my Outback for a 6K interval. I have confidence in it for my usage, but if I had a high performance engine or a turbocharged motor I'd pick a major oil brand. It's good quality synthetic at a good price.

Warren Oil Company in Dunn, NC makes both Lubrigold and Coastal brands, as well as the former RK brand for Rural King stores.

Yes, it's a full synthetic that's SN, GF-5 and Dexos1, that sounds good to me.

Here is a 2013 PQIA analysis

LubriGold SAE 0W-16 Full Synthetic Motor Oil is the first API approved 0W-16 passenger car motor oil in the market.

I used a lot of Coastal in my previous Jeep that was sold under the O'Reilly's brand at that time. No complaints at all, but that Jeep was not picky and I was still doing pretty short OCI's back then too.

I sure wouldn't be worried about using it though.
