co-worker's dog problem

I absolutely LOVE dogs, but I would not shoot it. I'd beat it to death. An attack on MY tethered dog on MY property is an attack on me.

PS My 155 pound Great Dane sleeps with me the night before I change the sheets! He even shares my pillow. We sleep snout-to-snout!

Sounds similar what happened to my neighbors dog. My wife and a neighbor walk in the mornings and on occasion the neighbor takes her dog along. Although she takes a leash with her, she doesn't always put it on the dog. One day her dog went up to a fence, where a German Shepherd lives, and ended up getting into a scrapple. She didn't know anything serious happened until a few days later when her dog's neck swelled, so off to the Vet they went. Her dog had a puncture wound which was infected by that time and ended up costing her close to $500. Could have been much higher if the other dog was injured, but thankfully for her sake the other dog was fine.

This is how my brother was able to adopt their Boxer rescue. He kept getting loose and the fines kept escalating to bail him out. I think the third time the family didn't want to pay the fine and the dog catcher took him to the Boxer rescue. He stayed in a foster home for a week in a super nice home in the DC area. I think the family had a bunch of small children and he wasn't getting enough attention and supervision. Now he does and he never wants to run away. Funny how things work out.

Yea, if a neighbors dog came onto my property, jumped my fence and attacked my dogs, there would be the smell of gun powder in the air. Unacceptable.

Smart move on his part staying home for the day. People are nuts these days. If I had the money I'd be installing some cameras pronto.
