Just the opposite; in my experience, liberals have have a great sense of humor while conservatives usually don't. At least the conservative (or so it seems) punk who vandalized my "the road to H**l is paved with Republicans"-bumper sticker did not appear to have any sense of humor at all.

giantrobo - I agree that's just stupid, laugh a little, be offended, but don't destroy other's property. Around Bellingham is pretty liberal...conservative lawn signs and bumper stickers usually don't last 24 hours before defacing or removal. I think that's one reason why conservatives don't think liberals are as tolerant as they paint themselves to be.

I wish the country could get past this polarization that politicians have gotten us into. They would rather draw divisive lines instead of thinking we're all in this boat together. Too often we forget to look at the merits of a proposal and just concentrate on which side it came from. I do think that the use of the "L" word to denigrate a persons view is not helping but has come to be a quick way to dismiss the other view.

I like to think, perhaps erroneously, that the founding fathers were liberal. And in their day, they were. These days both terms, liberal and conservative, have drifted far from their original meanings.
What are liberals liberal with(besides our money), and what exactly are conservatives trying to conserve( not the environment)?
On each of these little tests that have been posted I always fall about in the center- just a bit left, sure, but not far.
Show me a Republican candidate for something who wants to protect the environment instead of, or at least as much as his money, who isn't narrow-monded about religion and race, and doesn't feel the need to legislate religion and I'll vote for him or her.
To me, the party doesn't mean jack, it's what gets done.
