There is a ton of information out there with different cleaners and recipies for cleaning vinyl siding--what has worked well for you guys? I saw one guy claiming using Armor All was very effective, I guess it makes sense. Thanks in advance.

Little bleach to kill the mold/fungus.
TSP to remove the grime.
A garden sprayer, pressure washer (on the low pressure setting) hose end sprayer to apply the cleaning agent.
8 tons of elbow grease.
A medium stiff
scrub brush.
A cloudy calm day.
Patience.

On my last house, I used houshold bleach. 1/3 bleach, 2/3 water. I sprayed it on with a garden sprayer, then used a rotating brush type thing on the garden hose to wash and rinse it down. Worked really well.
I used simple green in a pressure washer, and a carwash style brush thing, then rinsed it with a hose.

Any of you guys have any trouble with bleach killing the grass or shrubs? My sister is getting ready to take on her siding and I thought bleach might not be the best idea because of the greenery. Any experiences?
Bleach will damage growing things. I covered my shrubs with clear poly. I always keep a roll of poly on hand. I get the 10'X100' at HD. A roll lasts me for several years.
Do you guys think 303 protectant might bring back the shine to particularly faded vinyl siding? I am not sure how much one would go through but it might restore its look significanty??? Any thoughts?
I don't think I would do that. Anything you put on will oxidize over time. You just don't know what your results will look like over time.
In my case, my siding was ~10 years old and and had a gray film on it. I had replaced a 10 foot section because of storm damage. When I got done cleaning, I could barly tell where the new piece was. It wasn't as shiny as new, but it looked really good.

Bleach will also kill some of the "good stuff" that makes it's home in the flower and shrub beds, Best to throughly water everything the day(s) before, to help prevent plant uptake of the cleaning agents. And throughly again, after the house is gleaming like a new penny. Oh, and don't leave the plastic cover on the plants on a sun filled day, instant steamed veggies.
