I see that pennzoil conventional/synthetic both meet this spec but Castrol GTX and Mobil 1 do not.Why not? Is this a new spec that Chrysler has instead of 6395M? Thanks Joe

Not sure they don't actually. Just not on the label yet. In a world when it costs money to keep retesting and updating bottles and websites they seem to do thing every so often. Would not read into it.

When I got my Neon in 04 it was very hard to find oil that was GF-3, MS-6396 both, in fact the only oil I found (conv.) was the "NEW" Mobil Clean that shipped just before the 5000, 7500, 15,000 thing. Never made it to Mobil's website. Well I actually got the requirements sent from Chrysler and it was line for line GF-4. OK that was M or N so not sure what is changed in Q but probably not MUCH!!!

6395Q includes the (TEOST) piston deposit tests and emulsion restention tests.

It is superior to earlier 6395 versions in general and specifically for turbocharged and ethanol fuel applications.
