Didn't get a TBN on this analysis. But I will probably get one on my next one.

Seems like your uni foam air filter is doing good [gasp] and with insols that low I bet ARX had something to do with it.

This car has seen mainly highway miles since I got it at about 85K miles. It was my college commuter car and now my daily commuter car to work. It sees about 100 highway miles a day.

timmy8151, those are fabulous results ... and just think how cheap this oil is.

You could try an oil 5+ times more expensive and it might never show a result any better for this interval.

Thanks. When I tell people that I use a $0.69/qt oil and a $1.99 filter, they think I'm crazy. But after this UOA, I think I've proved them wrong.

$.69/qt? Wow, did you ever get took! (I only paid $.68/qt for my Chevron Supreme and Havoline bought on closeout...) Seriously, though, absolutely astounding performance by that oil. (and some still continue to malign these severe-hydrocracked Group II oils simply because they're "dino"...) I'm coming up on my 12,000 mile oil change - 3,000 OCI, Havoline (ChevronTexaco) 10W-30 - and plan to send a sample in. I only hope my results mimic yours. Will post regardless.

I wish they had a Checkers or Costco where I lived...or even sold Chevron for that matter. I guess I'll just have to buy Havoline instead.

Heck, I'd change the oil every 1,000 miles just for the pleasure of buying more at 69 cents.

I'd love to be able to buy a two dozen 5 qt jugs ...which should be sealed well enough to give me enough shelf life for 5 years worth of changes for my Suburban. But at the same time I guess there's not much fun in that if you're a BITOG addict like myself.

Superb UOA results, by the way. I just shake my head.

I posted my UOA on another forum and someone posted:

those are high calcium and phosphorus.. which isnt good

true.. bot those are horrible things to use.. they break down easy..its like using cheap parts...
if you wnt anti wear.. get somethign with high moly.. and Magnesium for your Detergent/dispersant additive.. which doeesnt break down as easy..the calcium and phosphurus.. is the cheap way of making oil good..think of it as... a good tools.. theres snap-on/mac.. ect.. and theres walmart tools LOL

Just want to know what people feel about the above statement.

It seems to me the evidence in that UOA is in your favor. I don't see how they can argue with that.

Calcium and Phosphorus are part of the Chevron additive package. There are several reports here to back it up, including mine, and as far as I remeber, wear is excellent for all of them.

They dont know what they are talking about. You want high calcium and phos, as well as others, and moly doesnt hurt too, but certainly not alone!

That's some pretty funny stuff ... about the calcium and phosphorous.

Where do people get these ideas?

Look at the diesel oils ... they're LOADED with the stuff!
