You seem more worried about the car using oil than anything..
It's not unusual for any new engine to burn oil until 5,000 km or even 10,000 km there *IS* a break in period, and be kind to your engine during this time. Don't load it too much when cold and don't go all the way to the redline.
My engine is old enough that if I use 1 qt in 3000 km I'm doing well and it doesn't bother me too much
Also remember Honda engines have oil squirters, and the VTEC solenoid, if any, is hot and will burn oil when it engages (this information is from the dealer)
