Just do what the guys do in the Dakar Rally -- fill the back of the vehicle with spare tires. Full-size ones.
No donuts or run-flats for me. I just keep the best of my old (non-directional) tires as the spare when I get a set of new ones. And mount that spare of the [censored] of my wheels, though now I just have the four 16" alloys and my spare is on a 15" steel wheel.

Who takes an SUV off road? Ill bet my Vic has seen more off road than 98.7% of the SUV population. This reminds me, I need to acquire a police steelie and mount a cheap 215/65R16 on it.
