Next time the idiot should either wear a seatbelt, or look in the lane he's planning on changing into to see if there's a vehicle there.

I would personally recommend both.

Oh, and some defensive driving lessons.
There's no reason his car should have flipped after getting bumped.

BC.

Cool video.
The driver of the white car in the centre lane should have their licence suspended for a very long time (years).
I suspect the driver was drunk with all the weaving he/she did before drifting into the left lane with no turn signal on and absolutely no reason to move into the left lane since there was no one in front in the centre lane.

Thank God nobody was killed.

When I see any vehicle drifting into my lane I instinctively blow my horn as they might be sleepy, using their cell phone or not paying attention. I blow my horn a couple time a day to let them know I am next to them.

Scary thats why I don't like to drive next to anyone else on the highway if I can help it. Great defensive stop by the car with the camera.

A similar incident happened to me many years ago. I was going about 50 (in a 45 zone) which was what everyone else was doing in my lane and while entering the turn this car comes right over in front of me doing about 35 and I slam on the brakes and spin out on the guard rail. Generally a low speed accident, but the guy NEVER stopped..just kept going. I don't think he ever saw me in his mirrors and didn't know he caused the accident. I scan my mirrors constantly but I think a lot of people never use them.

Fighter pilots value SA (situational awareness - knowledge of what's going on around you). Sadly, that quality is lacking in most drivers. Most people have their side rear view mirrors adjusted incorrectly.

They adjust them to be able to see the sides of their own car...leaving a large blind spot on both sides of the car, an area not covered by the side rear views and the rear view on the windshield. However, you can adjust them outward, so that you can just see the edge of what's visible in your rear view mirror, and eliminate the blind spot.

You lose the comfort of seeing your car's flanks, but gain great visibility...Car and Driver had an article on this, IIRC...and I've changed the way I adjust them as a result...

My Fusion rental car last week had the embedded blind-spot mirror in the corner. I found it very useful and I'm not sure why other cars don't have it.
