Wonder what Costco would be in that area…

Hard to believe but when I bought the LS430 in 2016, I had to overpay for premium on the trip home, and it killed me: $1.819.

Chuck steak wasn’t always $9/lb. It is as I type. And people buy it too 😆

Economy of scale. Near Austin, if I recall. This is about 1/2 of the pumps.

Katy, just outside of Houston....the only Bucee's I've been to. What a junk store! I don't see the appeal. The car wash looked nice, but I was in a rental so that didn't help. The store is 3/4 of junk, who wants Bucee's pajamas? They had like 50 premade sandwiches out at 8 PM. Who wants an old sandwich that has been sitting out under a heat lamp for hours?

Why is mid-grade cheaper than regular ? This is not normal for Buc'ees either. Something is going on....

And at what altitude do stations drop from 87 down to 86 or 85 ?
Looks like the "midgrade" might be E85. No pics, but the Loxley AL one has over 230 pumps.

Edit: That IS midgrade and the price is correct according to GasBuddy.

Looks like the "midgrade" is E85.
It says "10% ethanol" right there and in my experience, E85 is substantially cheaper than regular (around here, 50c per gallon lower). I'm also not aware that Buc'ees sells E85. I'm not sure what they call their mid-grade though as I can make out "Regular" and "Super" but not what they call the 89 octane. It's "Plus".

Were you following me!? ;) I think there was a driveway about where your picture was taken and then another set of pumps going the other way. huge.
If they claimed it was the largest to date - Luling Texas …
(47 miles from Austin) …
Hopefully you drove into the city for BBQ though ⛽

Yeah, good catch. I was trying to decipher the label above each grade. Looks to be Regular, Plus, and Super.
