Check out The Drudge Report on the internet. The British are investigating a newspaper in England that allegedly faked photographs of British soldiers abusing Iraqi prisoners. And it is also alleged that the Boston Globe used fake photographs of American soldiers abusing Iraqis. Pretty good examples of corruption in the news media if these examples are true.

Of course, this does not mean that abuses did not take place in Iraq. Probably 7 American soldiers or more will be brought up on charges.

The Arab media meanwhile maintains silence on the murder on video of an American civilian in Iraq. The Arab media continues to discuss the abuses by American soldiers towards Iraqi prisoners. Typical double standard.

This isn't just the Arab media, the media in the USA is about as bad. They spend 1 minute on the guy getting his head cut off, and 15 on the so called prisoner abuse. Something is wrong in this country. The same media that doesn't want to show 9/11 pictures because it might offend some Islamic people are perfect fine showing the prison stuff since it makes US look bad and won't hurt anyone elses feelings.

Mystic,
there's been a bit on Oz T.V. about it, with condemnation, but I agree that the prisoner abuse issue is getting more airplay than this attrocity.

Things are getting pretty bad when Hezbollah condemn the act as a "horrible act that has done very great harm to Islam and Muslims by this group that claims affiliation to the religion of mercy, compassion and humane principles". While the media are to a large degree downplaying it.

CNN is terrible, biased crap network on the air. They might as well be an Arab network with their 1 minute coverage of a fellow American getting grisly executed by terrorist but the rest of the day on "prisoner abuse".Communist News Network is more appropriate.

Then they have the nerve to run a segment about if maybe the media "aka, the communist network" is making a mistake by showing too much press to the prisoner abuse "scandel".Certainly they wouldn't intentionally try to undermine the efforts by the US to make Iraq a a better place for it's people, not CNN,no way

Yet you watch it, they must be doing something right

I see your point but let me explain,my boss watches this crap at work but I get to turn the volume all the way down not to listen to this garbage. It's a compromise.I sit and look at it for about maybe 5 minutes at the most. They sit and run the same crap stories all morning.Besides we can't get fox news on this tv!
dunno.gif

They do have 2 cute broads in Carol and Soledad though.

The problem with fox is the its extremely and blantently right. Where are we to get news without a twist?

Probably the best way to get news about an area of the world is from somebody you know who has been there. If that person is honest and reliable that may well be your best source of news. Journalism is very different today then when I took classes in junior high. Today everybody has an agenda. Left or right wing or whatever.

I would say that FOX is the best I have been able to find. They have a somewhat right wing slant but they seem to make an effort to be accurate and present both sides. Just to show you how bad things have become, it is alleged that somebody at the Boston Globe obtained pornography photographs from an X-rated web site and used them as photographs supposed to show American soldiers abusing Iraqi prisoners. If this is true this newspaper owes the public a major front page apology, and a few people need to be fired. I would have be flunked out of class in junior high school if I had used fake photographs. But these are different times.

the boston globe pictures were confirmed from a porn site today. and the porn site is filing a lawsuit against the globe for plagiarism! lol

I do not understand how something like this can happen at any newspaper in America. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW IT COULD HAPPEN. The media in this country need to be doing some major reflection.

The editor probably has the same point of view. Gotta remember in most of the media everything takes a back seat to making Bush look bad. Executed American civilians, 9/11 films and pics, Iraqi POW's, the truth, everything. This is why more and more people get their news from other sources, they're getting tired of the bias.
