I know the SuperTech engine oils get good UOA's, but what about their ATF?? Looking for a cheap ATF to flush my '95 Volvo 960 trans with. No idea on history, I bought the car with a blown HG, and it currently has 156k miles on it. Thanks!!

It's cheap, and will work in DexronIII/Mercon applications for about 10-15k miles before needing nother fill. Those are about the only qualifications it has. It's a good preparation for more expensive ATF.

I used ST last month for a fuild change in an Avalon. Really can't say much except I did notice a smoother shift and the transmission didn't fail.

Junk fluid. It was what the previous owner of a friend's LS400 put into there. When replaced with a better fluid, the trans started shifting much better.

Could have just been due for a change, no?

I flushed out my 03 Toyota Tacom with Supertech Dex VI after 100K on factory fill. Shifts smoother. No more clunk from 1st to 2nd. Give it a try, it's so cheap.

Supertech fluids meet the specs that are inscribed on the bottle.
I believe they are good products.
I will admit I have a personal preference for 'name' brands in something that is not changed often, like a tranny or rear end.

I am going to try the ST Multi Vehicle in my Altima. I could have gone with the spec'd/less expensive ST Dex III/Merc. Reading the back it meets even the MercV specs and others. The Castrol Domestic Multi Vehicle doesn't do that.

It's $3.77 a qt. and seems to move off the shelf. There is a thread here somewhere about ST Multi vehicle.

Well, does somebody have an inexpensive recommendation for my car that has given good reviews and VOA's/UOA's? '95 Volvo 960, it specs Dex III.

First, I don't know of any VOA/UOA's on the ST Multi Vehicle ATF. That said, the ST Multi Vehicle is likely the MAG-1 Multi Vehicle ATF clone. It is made/bottled by the same company, Warren Distribution (WPP). Looking that ST bottle (now), the spec'd fluid apps say the exact same as the MAG-1 says in the pdf posted below. Don't know if that helps you, but the specs and apps look pretty good. IMO, it should meet/exceed your needs.

IMO, Super Tech is probably fine to use, especially the licensed fluids. If it says Mercon V or whatever, it has to meet that spec. I'm sure even the universal fluid is fine.

I don't use ST in my transmission because the truck gets regular flushes with BG full synthetic. I do use ST Mercon V for turkey baster changes on the PS pump though. With almost 92K miles, my PS works perfectly. I don't even have the notorious Ford whine. I was thinking of switching to a full syn for the PS since I have switched every other fluid, but I'm sticking to ST for now...anything that prevents Ford whine is a winner.

I found a bunch of WPP Accel brand DexMerc for $2/qt, great for a flush. The BIG Lots stores have this and SM Accel brand motor oil for same price. Beats even supertech price by the gallon jug for DexMerc. Also, at WM found DexMerc Maxlife ATF with "recommended for" almost every common transmission spec listed on the back of the bottle for $3.67 per qt, which is a great price for a good ATF. Once again, a bit cheaper than some of the Supertech fluids on the same shelf.

I'm not sure if I want to use MaxLife. I guess I need to do some reading on them, last time I checked I was under the assumption it was a dino-based fluid with seal-swellers to prevent leaks?
