Changing PCV valve.

It probably wouldn't be a bad idea to replace that hose with a new one--it's almost 10 years old.

had the same problem with my GF's integra.

Work it with pliers.

I am convinced that honda, despite strong design and robust building of engines, so they last a long time, uses the cheapest sub-par rubber in the auto industry.

where is the PCV valve located on the Integra ?? Is it located on the valve cover.....or next to the oil filter, under the intake manifold ?

If it's anything like my '95 Civic it is not a fun task. I found that it is easiest to wiggle loose the PCV valve from the rubber grommet that seems to have a death grip on the thing, then try to slide it toward the firewall under and out with the hose still connected. Then you are able to get some leverage on the item in question.

I also had trouble with PVC on my Honda...I put a little PB Blaster on a paper towel...and using my finger and nail, kinda rubbed it where valve connected to hose...whereas a plier didn't seem to help before in bout 3 sec, it slid right out...

I believe it's located under the intake manifold in a little oil seperator box.

I got it off. I didnt drive the car all day and with it being 102 today, I dont know if that losen the hose or not, but I took my pilers and wiggled it a little and came right off. Put the new one on. The new one seems a little smaller than the orignal.

I want to change the PCV valve in my 96 Accord, since I dont know if it has ever been changed. The problem is that I can not get the hose that connects to the pcv vavle to "let go" of the vavle so I can replace it. Any one have an idea how to get it off?

Grab a set of plyers, pinch the hose around the PCV valve and twist the hose. This usually works for me. Pulling the hose will only brake the pcv valve. You need to try to "Twist" the hose off.

i just di a pcv valve on my car this morning while doing an oil change and air filter change. I often have to let the car run for about 5 min. that seems to help with it comming out a bit easier. also depending on the manufacturer of the valve the size may differ slightly but not too much. if it is considerably differant double check to make sure its the correct one.

Went to Honda today and bought one, and it is smaller than the one in there orginally, about trhe same size as the new one I bought from AutoZone.

However the one I bought from Honda "fits" better...Car drives smoother.
