Because the driveway concrete is more porous and shows the stains. The stains do not clean up as well in a driveway. Even with a pressure washer - the stains remain.

So, parking a known leaker on my driveway, knowing it will stain the driveway, is a lot like me coming over to your house to deliberately pour a bit of red wine on your carpets.

Bet you wouldn’t like that very much.

Mine is very different.

But the material doesn’t matter.

You just don’t trash other people’s stuff.

Doesn’t matter if you trash your own, or don’t care about your own, you treat other people’s property with care.

If you bring your leaky truck onto my driveway and leave a bunch of black spots where there were none before, that’s trashing my stuff.

Why do you think contractors, plumbers, etc. put on booties before walking in your house, or mechanics put down paper on your floor mats before driving your car?

Because trashing other people’s stuff is wrong.

That's why I stay off the driveway. Not sure about the street though. My truck will leave 3 or 4 dime sized drops on the ground. If it leaves a puddle, that may be a different story. If you're leaving puddles, it just needs to be fixed

I’ve pressure washed my driveway a few times. Those oil spots are a real pain to get out.

I don't think there's a strength difference in most cases. I grew up doing concrete work and it was the same mix for a foundation or a driveway but the finish would be different. An interior slab may get different finish trowel work as opposed to a driveway which often has a rougher finish to enhance traction. We typically left a "broomed" finish on driveways where after getting a good hand troweled finish the final touch was using a camel hair broom head to make a subtle wavy finish that still looks pretty smooth but provides more traction. Interior floors often got a "burned in" finish where the last pass was made using a fairly small trowel and the result is a very smooth finish. I've walked on recently poured sidewalk that was finished too smooth and it would become very slippery when wet, Bon Jovi anyone?
And as an aside, we all really hated it when random people would vandalize our work and write their initials or something else stupid in the still drying concrete.

Yeah I was going go say that. They make it rough in the middle, then run a smooth 3" wide trowel around the perimeter to make a border. The slab has a smooth finish so that would aid in wiping up any spills

I used to test concrete in a former life. It all dependent on your specs. Which aggregates, intended strength, air entrainment, slump, etc.
