Follow the OLM!
This isn't rocket science. I plan on leaving Chevron Supreme in my 2008 Impala until the OLM reaches 0% which will be 9-10K, admittedly in milder conditions.
Trust the OLM. If you want more TBN retention near the end of the OCI interval then switch to a good synthetic like Mobil 1, PP or Valvoline Synpower. And give us more information to help you, i.e., I'm at XX% on my OLM and it drops X%/1000 miles, etc. And try reducing the amount of cold idle time. Start the car, let things stabilize for a few seconds, then drive. I've lived in the cold country too and se Ct. isn't Iowa or Minnesota or NH for that matter!
Take care,
Gary
